ACME Co.
"Spaceport America Cup Rocket"
Acme Co. is a sixty-pound, twelve foot tall, two stage rocket that was designed and constructed for the Spaceport America Cup competition near Las Cruces, New Mexico. The rocket is a complex M motor rocket utilizing an Aerotech L2500 for the booster and an Aerotech L1150 for the sustainer to achieve an apogee of 11,000 feet. The rocket's first flight was successful with all recovery events deploying. Despite the sustainer motor not igniting due to an altimeter programming error, the flight was deemed a success and validated the techniques used for construction, recovery, and electronics.
